In Memory of Nancy Hart

I was watching YouTube and saw a video where Kevin Hart was talking about his mother and how much he missed her. I wanted to do something very special for him because I know how hard it is to lose someone you love. So thankful God blessed me with the gift.

Kevin,

Every day since my passing I've witnessed your love for me,
Though it hurts like crazy, you've accepted that with God is where I'm suppose to be.
Son, know that my love for you still floats around on the earth below,
Believe me when I say that a mother's love is a love that will forever live on.

I walk around heaven and I say to the other angels, "Look at my son! He's amazing!"
We all sit up here and laugh at the jokes you tell as I say, "That boy is crazy."
I'm so blessed that God allowed me to spend my days on earth with you,
Thankful that He still allow me to see the amazing things that you do.

As I look down and see you with your children, I am one proud mom/grandma,
Precious Heaven and my man Hendrix, I miss you all.
It brightens my day to see just how loving you all are and the goofy times you all share,
It's during these times I wish that I could just be there.

God came to me and said, "Nancy you've fulfilled your purpose, you must come home now."
He sent His best angels, with beautiful faces and pure white gowns.
He extended His hand and upon it I stood as He brought me up to enter heaven's gates,
Physically gone from the earth but on the other side I await.

I know my God and He will be with you every single day of your life,
Open your Bible on a daily basis and read the scriptures in it, Kevin read them twice.
Know that I'll always be with you as God made me an angel to oversee,
Watching over you, Robert, my grandchildren, friends and family.

Death can never take me away from you, in your heart is where you'll find me,
From the start of each morning to the end of each night, I'm wherever you may be.
Continue to fulfill your purpose, God has great things planned for you,
Just remember know matter what, your mother Nancy Hart will always be loving you.

Love,
Mom

My Poetry Letter To All of You! Love, Mel

My feet were lifted from the ground but my eyes still had you in view,
God had confirmed my life was completed but something unaware to you.
As I looked around, knowing that shortly after your hearts would be in pain,
I asked God to make sure that each and every one of you would always be okay.

Mama five years has passed since the day and I know the tears still fall,
If only I could, I would come back so that you don't have to deal with the pain of it all.
I'm missing you just as much as I know that you're down there missing me,
I reached the heavenly skies and I'm smiling because I got my angel wings.

Mama life with you was everything and I miss seeing your beautiful face,
I wish I could have one more hug, one more kiss or just to hear your voice say, "Mel."
When the winds wrap around you just know that I'm sending you my hugs,
When the thunder roars the loudest, know that I'm sending you my love.

Mama the physical me will never return to the earth but my love never left you,
The same unconditional love I gave on earth, I give that same love in death too.

 All three brothers...
I know that August 31, 2010 was a very painful day for all three of you dude's,
On the 4300 block of America Street is where the angels came and stood.
Followed me to the hospital and held my hand until my last breath was taken,
My spirit was then released from my body and moves I started making.

Flew to the heavens with the rest of my people to live eternal life,
At the same time I'm missing my brothers and wishing I didn't die.
But as we know the good Lord above has never made a mistake when names are called,
And prayers are always answered that's why I asked if He'd watch over y'all.

Look at y'all dude, I'm sitting here with a smile on my face just seeing this picture,
It would look a little bit better if ya' big brother was in it witcha'.
Taking a moment to send smiles your way and joke with ya' just a little bit,
I will always and forever love you and that, you better not ever forget.

Netia, five years has passed since I left and I just want you to know that I'm here,
The physical me had to leave the earth but my love and presence is always near.
Thinking about those old times we shared, the laughs and the playing around we did,
I'd give anything just to have five more minutes with you sis.

Enjoy life, love hard and do whatever it is you set your mind for,
You just never know when that time will come for life to be no more.
I'm so proud of you and all that you've done and I'll continue being by your side,
God knew what He was doing when He gave me my wings to fly.

Once upon a time there were three little girls who wanted to conquer the world,
They set out on a mission early in the morning to find every diamond and pearl.
So from the heavens God called for an angel to help them find what they were after,
"Melvin" he said, "Go help them out. You'll find them by the sound of their laughter."

I was taken to the heavens, such a beautiful place and wings were placed on my back,
Then I flew to the earth to help complete your mission with my binoculars and sack.
Every little journey that you travel, I'll be taking those same steps too,
And if you ever need a helping hand know that I'm standing right next to you.

When you lay to sleep at night, I'll tuck you in and kiss your cheek,
When you open your eyes, the "Good morning" you hear will be me.
Baby dolls, I love ya'll so much and my love is there in your hearts,
You may not see the physical me but your daddy is never too far.

Know that I'm always loving ya'll,
I just had to go cause God called.
I'm never too far away,
I didn't just up and leave, God said I could not stay.

Love,
Mel

In Memory of Melvin Labranch: For my bro August Alsina

My twelve year old daughter Amari is the biggest August Alsina fan. She talks about him all the time and I heard her say he lost his brother. I googled the information, grabbed some images and I write:

Death never tweets, FB message, text or hit you up on Instagram...
It comes when it comes leaving you feeling like, "Damn!!!"

It was August 31, 2010 when God looked in the book of life... marking mine completed,
Bullets punched through my flesh as soon as God said there were angels He needed.
I know that losing me is a pain that you will never get over but it gets better,
I look down on you every moment of every day wishing we were still chilling together.

Bro, I'm so proud of you. There's no words that can tell you how much,
I'm in the heaven's jamming too every time a song of yours on my playlist show up.
I lived a wonderful life, each moment of the twenty-four years I was given,
Don't think it ended when I was murdered cause bro I'm in the heaven's really living.

You down there showing out and I'm up here enjoying watching,
I say to all the other angels, "Look at my bro. I know him. He ain't never stopping."
If I could turn back the hands of time for five minutes just to wrap my arms around you,
If I could turn back the hands of time for five minutes just to stay I love you dude.

I miss the family so much and more than that,  I miss my little girls,
Always let them know that to me... they meant the whole wide world.
Tell them I'm right there by their side and by their side I will always be,
Take care of my daughters bro... make sure you do that for me.

I just wanted to send these words to let you know how much I love and miss you,
Know that I stand right by your side through everything you go through.
Know that your bro is truly living... an angel God called home way soon,
And know that no matter what... your big brother is always watching over you.

Love you dude,
Melvin

In Memory of Eddie Kendrick: Love You Aika Kendrick

I saw a post on a one of my Facebook friend's wall about how much she missed her dad, so I write:

God calls us when our purpose on earth is completed.
God calls angels to come to heaven as needed.

My baby girl... I'm looking down from heaven's window on you,
Know that I hear and see everything you do.
Also know that I'm never far when you need to say my name,
My love still loves you all the same.

Though we all wish we had more time when death calls... we don't,
God will never weigh you down with more than you can handle... He won't.
As the days pass and you're missing me more than ever,
Know that I send my love whether it be through the humming birds or weather.

When the wind blows hard, I'm wrapping my arms tightly around you,
When the birds chirp, I'm singing and hoping my song has found you.
When the rain pours, I'm crying tears of happiness and love,
When the thunder roars, I'm screaming I love you... just because.

Aika, words can't describe the way I feel each moment of every day,
God called for me so in the heavens in where I'll stay.
Your father's love will always and forever be,
Aika Kendrick... you are such a blessing that God gave to me.

I look at my grandson with a smile... congrats on motherhood,
You should be very very proud darling... yes you should.
When you look at the clouds, know that I'm looking down on you,
I did not just up and leave... God said I had to.

I love you,
Dad (Eddie Kendrick)

In Memory of Wayne Mills (Friend of Craig Wayne Boyd & Blake Shelton)

I was watching a recorded show of the Voice when I saw Craig Wayne Boyd hand Blake Shelton a necklace from the wife of their friend Wayne Mills who is now deceased and I decided to write:

November 23, 2013 was the day God marked my life as completed,
It was the day He said to one of His angels, "Go get him because he's needed."
It was the last day that I'd have on the earth with all of you,
A day you'd feel lost and unsure of what to do.

Carol, I want to say that you are an amazing woman and I love you,
Whenever you start to wonder, know that my love shines down from above you.
I'm sitting high above those bright skies as all of us angels do,
I'm with you every single morning you wake and as the night fall upon you.

I'm so thankful that God blessed me by bringing you into my life,
So grateful that He saw fit for me to be your husband and you my wife.
I know losing me hasn't been an easy thing at all but God is with you,
I see the tears as they fall and know that my eyes get watery too.

Carol, there are no words that can be written to express my love for you.
Carol, there are no words that can be written to tell you how much I miss you.
Carol, there are no words that can be written to say exactly how I feel.
Carol, there are no words that can be written and I mean that.

Jack, I know my leaving you is something you just don't quite get yet,
You may know that I'm gone but I'm sure you're wishing I'd come back.
I asked God to help you understand and cease you're aching heart,
I know the day that daddy left you, it just tore your world apart.

I'm sorry son that the day had to come where I had to leave the earthly grounds,
I always thought that in every day of your life I'd always be around.
Know that God never make mistakes and on that day the decision was made,
Even though I know it hurts right now, please know that I made it okay.

Jack, there are no words that can be written to express my love for you.
Jack, there are no words that can be written to tell you how much I miss you.
Jack, there are no words that can be written to say exactly how I feel.
Jack, there are no words that can be written and I mean that.

Craig, thank you man for wearing my chain...I really appreciate the love,
Know that nothing you do go unnoticed cause I'm watching from the heavens above.
I know you're still like, "I can't believe it" every day that you rise with the sun,
God said He needed angels that day and that I was the perfect one.

Blake, dude you know I wasn't gonna forget you...how could I good ol' friend,
Thank you to for wearing my chain and know that I'm rooting for you to win.
You and Adam have me laughing hard as I watch from heavenly sky,
Me and all my angel friends be laughing so hard we cry.

I just want y'all to know that there's no need for tears, I'm safe and at home with God,
No mistake was made when He took me that day so tears...I shed them...not.
I love you all with all of my heart, keep living to the fullest every day,
It wasn't me. I didn't just up and leave but God said I could not stay.

Carol & Jack....I love you so much.

Love,
Wayne Mills

In Memory of Jacqueline "Jackie" Donahue (Sister of Nelly & Mother of Shawn and Sydney)

I was watching an episode of "Nellyville" when I saw Nelly say that two of his children were actually his niece and nephew whom he took responsibility for after the death of his sister. I enjoyed watching the show but was more touched by the story, therefore, I took the gift God has blessed me with and began writing:

It's been a while since I've left the earthly grounds,
No matter how long it's been I know it still hurts the same not to have me around.
Know that I did not go far because my love still lives with you,
No matter how long, I'll never ever forget you.

Nelly, you are the best brother any girl could ever ask for,
Though you didn't have to, you did as I asked and more.
I love you bro and from the heaven skies I watch over you daily,
I know you sense my love and it has you feeling some type of way lately.

I'm not far at all...just beyond the clouds you look up to,
Don't you cry at all...I'm so thankful for the time God gave me with you.
All it takes is a call...you can yell up to the high and bright skies,
I hear it all...through the winds howl you'll hear my fast replies.

Shawn and Sydney... know that I'd give anything to have you in my arms again,
I know it's been painful but God called my name and I've been in heaven ever sent.
Know that no mistake was made, when God calls us...we have to go,
Know that each and every day...I'm looking down on you and loving you so.

A mother's love last forever and that's exactly how my love will last for you,
Look how big you've gotten and all the wonderful things you've been blessed to do.
You're listening to Uncle Nell ain't you? You better be...cause you know how he is,
I'm sitting back laughing as I watch down on all four of you kids.

Continue doing great things and never walk away from your dreams,
Know that life is too short and you want to live with no regrets about anything.
Be good to each other, take care of one another and love as much as you can,
And know that no matter what life brings you...I'll be right here, holding your hand.

Love,
Mama Jackie

In Memory of Doris Rowland Garrison (Mother of Kelly Rowland)

I was online today and saw that Kelly Rowland lost her mom it was put on my heart to write:

When death finds us, it is never an easy thing to deal with,
A persons absence reminds us, it just always seem as if life ended too quick.

Kelly, I know that you sit there in pure shock, still in disbelief that I'm gone,
Asking God, "Did you really come and take my mom back home?"
God erased my presence from the earth only to have me present with Him,
I know it hurts but it's only a short time that God shares His precious gems.

Don't cry baby doll...know that I wear a smile on my face cause I'm home,
Thankful God brought me to this place and knowing His decisions are never wrong.
Don't be angry sweetie pie...I lived a beautiful life and I'm so very glad,
Thankful to God that He blessed me with you and for the awesome times we had.

When God calls us by name you don't ask why, you just get up and go,
Hate I couldn't notify you but the time and date are never known.
Death is nothing we can ever be prepared for, we just have to learn to let God work,
And don't ever forget to call Him by name whenever your heart begin to hurt.

Honey child if you could only see this gorgeous place that I now call home,
If it was up to me, I wouldn't have left you there I would've brought you along.
Know that I love you baby and my love for you will always remain by your side,
Listen to me...my body may be physically gone but mom is just fine.

Love,
Mama Doris

In Memory of Sharon Tucker (mother of Todd Tucker, Kandi Burruss-Tucker's husband)

I opened up Facebook this morning and saw a post from the Rickey Smiley fan page stating that Todd Tucker has lost his mother. I got up and came over to my computer and began to write:

God sat down and opened the book of where my life was written,
Marked "completed" and closed it, making it His final decision.
Then down to the earth He sent His angels on one specific mission,
They arrived taking the physical me, leaving no body, no heartbeat, no vision.

Todd, baby I know that this has to be one of the hardest days of your life,
To have me up and leave with no last hugs, kisses or good-bye's.
Know that I asked God to keep you wrapped in His arms, deeply protected,
He assured me He would and that's only what I expected.

Death has a way of sneaking up on us and there is nothing we can do,
But I say...God come to get His most precious angels when this life is through.
Death is one of those things we can never prepare for though we try our best,
But I say...We never truly die; we go back home to the heavens to rest.

I just want you to know that I've cherished every moment that I've been blessed with,
I lived the best life one could ever live and I thanked God every second before death hit.
You my son, I will miss like crazy and I just know you're in shock now,
Never wonder how you'll get through this cause I know just how.

I know a God who can do what we think is impossible at a moments notice,
I know a God who can dry fallen tears and get those blurry eyes back into focus.
I know a God who can heal the pain you now feel when you think it can't be done,
I know a God who is truly amazing and I asked Him to watch over my son.

In a week or so you'll sit and watch as my body is put into the ground,
You'll cry a flowing river of tears as my casket is lowered down, down, down.
Know that I did not just up and leave you God said I could not stay,
Know that I will always be near you, I got my angel wings today.

Love,
Mama Sharon

In Memory of Beulah Jackson **Grandmother of Curtis (50 Cent) Jackson**

They say that when He sends His angels, He's sending for the best,
So I smiled as I greeted death and went on home to rest.

Curtis, I am so glad to have lived a life as the one God gave to me,
I am so glad to have been blessed with any and everything.
Now I can go and rest now and look down below on you,
Give it your very best now...know that your mother is looking with me too.

Life has a way of coming to an end so suddenly it seems,
Causing hurt to many hearts after all of the joy that one brings.
Though we all know to expect it; it never seem to hurt any less,
Know that I'm okay sweet boy, I just went home with all the rest.

I asked God to make sure to watch over you and heal your hurting heart,
God assured me that He's been doing just that from the moment that it started.
I've lived a beautiful life son and I thank you for all the love you gave,
Know that you're my #1 in so, so many ways.

As my body is lowered into the ground and good-byes are told out loud,
As the tears hit the dirt below, I'll be home up in the clouds.
Each morning you wake, I'll be kissing your cheek,
Every night that you sleep, I'll be kneeled at your feet.

A grandmother's love has no limits and come with no ending,
My body may not be physically there but my love keeps on giving.
Take good care of yourself son, continue to give what God has given you,
Remember that I love you and am safe now...

Gone to do what angels do.

Love,
Grandma (Beulah Jackson)

In Memory of Lonnie Lynn (father of rapper Common) R.I.P.

In my view stood angels dressed in the whitest robes I've seen,
One spoke stating the Lord has sent them to carry me.
So as each of their hands touch my body, I was lifted up high,
Non-stop was the movement until we reached the heavenly skies.

At the gates there stood God with open arms to greet me,
Tears fell faster than ever to know He'd be there to meet me.
Embraced me with a tight hug and allowed to come thru the golden gates,
So this is where I'll be waiting until we meet again one day.

Son, I'm just so thankful for the time we were given together on earth,
I just want you to know that I'll always love you cos I know losing me hurts.
To know that I'm no longer physically present but the life I lived was worth it,
To be surrounded by family and friends for so many years was absolutely perfect.

I know that the tears may appear and your heart may hurt a little,
Then the laugh will find it's way thru and the memories will have you tickled.
My voice will be heard and the pictures of me will bring a smile,
Know that I love you son and I always will and you made living that much more worthwhile.

Love,
Dad (Pops)

Poem in memory of Coates Scott aka Kayo Redd to his mother Deb Antney & brother Waka Flocka

I saw on Facebook where the brother of Waka Flocka and son of Deb Antney has passed on. I wanted to write these words in hopes that they help, heal and save. So I write:

Mama, I was looking for the words to say,
The perfect words to kinda clear up the sadness on ur face.
The words to make dealing with my death a little more easier,
But I know there's nothing I can say that's gonna stop the hurt in ya'.

Coates Scott aka Kayo Redd found dead - was the headline,
I know ur screaming loud, "No! No! It's not time."
I can see the tears in ur eyes and the wet path they leave when falling down ur face,
I can see the hurt in ur eyes...I hate I caused u so much pain.

I don't know exactly wut words I could use to explain what I did,
I really don't think there are any that could console a mother who juss lost a kid.
Mama, I neva wanted to hurt you...neva wanted to leave u feeling this way,
Came the time. Came the moment. Came a reason. Came the day.

Juss know that I love you and I juss don't have the words to explain this,
Not the words that I'm looking for to make it all a little less painless.
If I could go back in time and take a moment juss to let you know I love you and give you a hug,
Juss to see your smile, look in your eyes and feel your touch.

Waka...devastated and torn up is the way you're feeling...I know,
Thinking in that dang brain of yours..."Man...wut the phuk u go & do that fo'."
All I can say is that I'm sorry for not leaving an explanation of why,
Or betta yet taking the time to sit down and write a letter telling u & mama bye-bye.

Time heals all wounds they say...that's the selfish way of me saying u will be alright,
The pain that I felt was too much to handle...I could no longer put up the fight.
I love you dude...I always will. I juss hope one day you'll find it in your heart to forgive me,
I know I'm gone and I know it's wrong to have you lose another brother...so quickly.

A hurting heart turns into pain.
A feeling of no way out crashes the brain.
Life seems to give no reason to live.
Suicide becomes easier than it is.

God loves and He comforts,
I ask that He continues to watch ova you.
God loves and He heals,
He promised to see you all the way through.

What I didn't take...Is my love,
Coates Scott "Kayo Redd"

Playstation 4 vs My Child

**It's amazing the things we make time for**

My Poetry's Truths:

Heard the Playstation 4 was hitting the stores at midnite so outside the store I was seated. Blanket covering my legs and a jacket on my body to keep me heated. Got to the store about 2pm cos I wanted to b first in line. Was gon' make sure that if nothing else, I was gon' get mine. So I sat there and I waited. Thinking about all the fun I was gon' have, the prize I was gon' get for waiting. The moment come and I'm the first one in the store. The first one at the counter with my hundred dollar bills and more.

The next morning my child calls and says that they just wanna hang out with me. I just sat and listened as he/she said mama/daddy please come and get me. I had to tell 'em that I was beat cos I was out all nite, maybe another time. And got the response that I always say that and end up doing nuthin' but lieing. But hey, I got what I wanted so outta my bed I leaped. Went and open the box that waited patiently for me. Had the biggest smile on my face that one had ever seen. I finally got the game that I kept envisioning in my dream.

Later that day my child called and asked if I was still busy. He/She said, "Now can you come get me?" I responded with a quick lie saying that I gotta go in to work. The crazy thing is, I lied and didn't care that he/she was hurt.

Abort

A poem I wrote in May 2011 about abortion.

I just didn't know what to do
Couldn't stand the thought of you
Growing inside me
Taking away from the "FREE" life that I have
So I was given no choice
My whole family pissed
And...
Mama won't let me tell my daddy
She say that if we get it ova with no one will have to know
I don't want the embarrassment
The humiliation
Them knowing that I'm with child
Not wanting the possibility of never graduating
Choices...
I have them
But what do I do
It's either keep you or abort you
The opportunity to give you away or spoil you
I sit here
And I think it may be easier becos I don't know you
And if I never give myself the opportunity it won't matter
I will never be haunted by your face, your eyes or your laughter
I have a choice
And becos I can never be me, with you
I abort!

In Memory of Lynda

I come home this morning after being in Oklahoma a few days and watch one of my favorite tv shows, "Marrying the Game." On this episode, Tiffney (the fiance' of Jayceon "the Game" Taylor) celebrated her mother Lynda's b-day (who has passed away from cancer). I wanted to send some special words to her because it was put on my heart, so I write:

Tiffney baby, the love of my life
I am so blessed that God has given Shala the gift to write.
So blessed that I am able to send these words to you
I hope that they do what they're being written to do.

It has been about eight years since I've left the earthly grounds
Though the pain is a little less, I see the tears are still hanging around.
I love the beautiful flowers that Jayceon purchased for me
Thank you for still celebrating my day and all the nice things you do constantly.

Visiting the grounds that my body lay buried beneath
Saying "I love you" and starring down at me...
Well, down at the ground that holds my ashes and bones
As you know...my spirit has already made it's way home.

Tiff, I wish there was a way I could go back in time
A way that I could wrap you in these arms of mine.
A way that I could plant one last kiss on your cheek
A way that I could say I love you and hear you say you love me.

Baby, I love looking down seeing your beautiful smile
You are the reason my life was worthwhile.
Old memories, with those,  moments to remain
And old pictures will allow you to still see my face.

God has never nor will He ever make a mistake
My purpose on earth was done therefore I could not stay.
But know that with every moment you're awake...I'm thinking of you
Flying right by your side as all of Gods angels do.

Tiff and Jay, let love do what love do
I have God and all my angel friends watching over you.
Tell my grandbabies I said I love them and give them a kiss
Until Shala write for me again, I will leave you with this.

Though death bring distance, our hearts keep us close.

Love,
Mom Lynda

To Those Families Affected by the Oklahoma (Moore) Tornado on 5/20/2013

When I heard about the death of the children in the Moore, Ok tornado, my heart went out to their families and I wrote:

We're trapped down below and our screams reach the surface
Then a hand reached down for each of us and a voice said, "You've completed your purpose."
Not truly understanding what was said, tears fell from our face
Then the voice responded, "Take my hand. Everything will be okay."

Without hesitation we reached up
Without hesitation He saved us
Though physically gone, we live
Not on the earthly ground but where heaven is.

We each asked a question concerning our mommy's and daddy's
God answered, "Let me take care of them."
And then a voice from one of the children asked,
"Can you tell them we're all here?"

A smile appeared upon the face of God as He responded, "Yes I will.
I'm also going to make sure that I hold each one until they completely heal."
So now that you know we're safe and protected, know that our love still lives
And though you're angered about this whole situation, know that God is real.

God never make mistakes...He don't
God never ever leaves us...and today He won't
God always oversee us...and He's watching down on you
We're little angels now and to our families left crying out...we know that God is true.

Pray. Believe. Vision. Smile.
Just imagine that we've took a field trip for a long little while.
